Help Us Remember Olivia Weir

Olivia was born on April 18, 2001 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Olivia was jaundice in her first few weeks of life, and the doctors knew that something wasn't right. She was diagnosed with a rare condition called Biliary Atresia when she was about 4 weeks old. The cause of Biliary Atresia is unknown and usually occures 1 in 15,000 live births annually and is more frequent in females then males. Olivia had her first liver transplant when she was 7 months old. A donor liver did not be come available and her mother donated a portion of her liver to help save Olivia's life. Olivia came through the surgery with flying colors and when she recovered, everything seemed to be ok for about 4 months. She spent most of her first 2 years of life at the IWK Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Don't think of her as
gone away~~
her journey has just begun
life holds so many facets~~
this earth is only one...
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrow and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
that nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.
